Healing of Stroke Patients with Medical Treatment, Traditional Massage and Family Assistance
Abstract
Abstract—Based on the results of the Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) in 2018, people with strokes increased from 7% to 10.9%. The increase in the prevalence of non-communicable diseases is related to lifestyles, such as the number of smokers, alcohol consumption, physical activity, and consumption of fruit, and vegetables. The stroke will appear suddenly because of a wrong lifestyle. This condition encourages us to better understand how we treat stroke patients. For some people, it turns out that they do not know that the healing and recovery process of stroke sufferers can be done through traditional massage. Not all traditional massage has the same ability in healing. The study conducted through a survey of 100 participants turned out to show the results that almost 90% of stroke patients who take treatment experience healing even though not 100%. Of the 100 participants, almost 50% of them performed a combination of treatments in a modern way, and almost 70% in the treatment process were accompanied by their families. The implication for people who have family members who experience a stroke turns out that Indonesia still holds the potential for the treatment of stroke through traditional massage.
