Efektivitas Metode Demonstrasi dan Konvensional terhadap Hasil Belajar dan Sikap Ilmiah Materi Energi Alternatif
Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of demonstration methods compared to traditional methods in enhancing students' learning outcomes and scientific attitudes concerning alternative energy topics. The research involved two X classes, with 23 students in the conventional group and 21 students in the demonstration group. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design featuring a pretest–posttest comparison across two groups. The instruments consisted of a 30-item objective test and a questionnaire with 30 statements related to scientific attitudes. The findings revealed that the demonstration class improved its average learning results from 76 to 93, yielding an N-Gain of 0. 75, categorized as moderately effective. In contrast, the conventional class's score rose from 73 to 83, with an N-Gain of 0. 44, classified as moderate. The scientific attitudes in both classes were rated as very strong, with percentage achievements for indicators ranging from 86% to 90%. These results indicate that the demonstration method is more effective than the traditional method in enhancing conceptual understanding, while both methods successfully promote students' scientific attitudes at a very high level.
