Kemampuan Generalisasi Matematis Siswa pada Pembelajaran Eksponen menggunakan Model PACE
Abstract
Mathematical generalization ability plays an important role in helping students recognize patterns, formulate general rules, and use them to solve problems. However, this ability is still considered relatively low. One of the essential topics in mathematics learning is exponents, which often becomes a challenging material for students. This study aims to describe students’ mathematical generalization ability on exponent material after participating in learning using the Project, Activity, Cooperative Learning, and Exercise (PACE) model. This research employed a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The subjects were 23 tenth-grade students at SMA Negeri 2 Indralaya Utara. Data were collected through a written test developed based on indicators of mathematical generalization ability. The results of the study provide an overview of students’ abilities in each generalization indicator after the learning process. The conclusions of this study offer information regarding the level of students’ mathematical generalization ability as well as the potential of the learning model to support students in understanding exponent concepts.
