PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA LAGU BAHASA INGGRIS TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMPN 209 JAKARTA

This research aims to determine the effect of using English song media on the English reading skills of class VIII students at SMPN 209 Jakarta. The method in this research is using the experimental method with a posttest only control group design. There are two groups of this design, each chosen in a modern way. The first group was given treatment (X) and the other group was not. The group that is given treatment is called the experimental group and the group that is not given treatment is called the control group. The limitations based on the population and sample in this study were students in class VIII D and VIII G at SMPN 209 Jakarta. The English subject with the desired learning outcome is reading skills. From the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of English song media influences English reading skills. The results obtained in this research obtained tcount = 3.298 while ttable = 2.029. This means tcount > ttable (3.298 > 2.029). So it can be concluded that the "Alternative Hypothesis is accepted".
