UPAYA PENINGKATAN KESEHATAN PEKERJA KERAJINAN UKIRAN LIMBAH TULANG UKM ASRI DI DESA TAMPAKSIRING GIANYAR

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Tampaksiring Gianyar, Bali dikenal sebagai sentra kerajinan ukiran tulang, salah satunya yaitu UKM Asri. Dalam kegiatan produksinya, kerajinan ukiran ini banyak menghasilkan polusi debu, sehingga dapat mengganggu kesehatan sistem pernafasan dari pekerjanya. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka sangat diperlukan penangan terhadap debu yang dihasilkan pada saat kegiatan produksi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pengadaan masker, selop tangan, dan pendampingan pembuatan alat penyedot debu. Hasil yang dicapai yaitu adanya alat penyedot debu pada tempat produksi, dan para pekerja dapat menggunakan masker dan selop tangan saat membuat kerajinan. Pengadaan alat penyedot debu dapat mengurangi polusi debu yang dihasilkan dalam proses produksi karena debu yang dihasilkan sudah tertampung dalam bak penampungan, pengadaan masker dapat mengurangi polusi debu terhirup oleh pekerja dan selop tangan dapat menjaga keselamatan pekerja saat melakukan pemotongan atau pengukiran tulang. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini yaitu adanya peningkatan kesehatan pekerja karena polusi debu yang dihasilkan sudah tertangani, sehingga kualitas kesehatan pekerja lebih baik dan keselamatan pekerja lebih terjamin dengan penggunan selop tangan.

ABSTRACT

Tampaksiring Gianyar, Bali is known as the center of bone carving crafts, one of which is UKM Asri. In its production activities, this carving craft produces a lot of dust pollution, so that it can interfere with the health of the respiratory system of its workers. Based on these problems, it is very necessary handling of dust generated during production activities. The method used is the procurement of masks, hand slippers, and assistance in the manufacture of vacuum cleaners. The results achieved are the existence of a vacuum cleaner at the production site, and workers can use masks and hand slippers when making crafts. Procurement of a vacuum cleaner can reduce dust pollution generated in the production process because the resulting dust has been accommodated in a storage tank, the procurement of masks can reduce dust pollution inhaled by workers and hand slippers can maintain the safety of workers when cutting or carving bones. The implication of this activity is an increase in the health of workers because the dust pollution produced has been handled, so that the quality of workers' health is better and the safety of workers is better guaranteed by using a pair of slippers.
