Terapi Herbal Sebagai Alternatif Pengobatan Covid-19

Abstract


Introduction: Since the Covid-19 pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), many have developed herbal medicinal therapies as an alternative to Covid-19 treatment. This herbal medicine is believed to be able to reduce symptoms and cure Covid-19 disease. In Indonesia, research and development on herbal medicine has a high interest and has support of various agencies, both universities, research institute and the government. Method: A literatur review was conducted based on electronic databases: Google and Google Scholars using key words herbal treatment for Covid-19 or herbal medicine for Covid-19 or alternative medicine against covid. Publication using in this study journals, epidemiological data, and web page. Publication published with Indonesian language also include using Google with same key word. Results: Herbal treatment therapy not yet be used to cure Covid-19, but herbal remedies can be used to relieve inflammatory symptoms caused by Covid-19 disease. In addition, herbal medicine also has properties to increase the body’s immune system to prevent and deal with the symptoms of Covid-19. Conclusion: There is needed for further clinical studies on the application of herbal medicine in the treatment of Covid-19
