Eksplorasi Bawang Putih sebagai Bahan Ramah Lingkungan untuk Pertanian: Studi Literatur

Abstract


Garlic (Allium sativum) is a plant with various benefits, including its use as a natural ingredient for sustainable agriculture. This study aims to examine the potential of garlic peel as a botanical pesticide and organic fertilizer to enhance plant growth and protection. A literature review was conducted using the Publish or Perish software to search for data from Google Scholar with the keywords "garlic for plants" within the 2021–2025 timeframe. Out of 100 articles found, filtering was performed based on citation count and relevance, resulting in 26 articles that were further analyzed using VOSviewer. The analysis results show that garlic peel contains flavonoids and other bioactive compounds that act as antimicrobial, antioxidant, and biopesticide agents. Network visualization shows that research on garlic has been expanding over the past five years since 2021, focusing on its use as liquid organic fertilizer and natural pesticide to reduce dependence on synthetic chemicals. Thus, the utilization of garlic not only contributes to environmentally friendly pest control but also supports a more sustainable and efficient agricultural system
