Analisis Buku IPAS Kelas V SD/MI dalam Membangun Karakter dan Kecakapan Abad 21 Peserta Didik
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the feasibility of the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) textbook for Grade V Elementary Schools/Islamic Elementary Schools (SD/MI) Merdeka Curriculum published by Erlangga in building the character and 21st-century skills of students. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with a content analysis method based on four aspects of book feasibility according to Permendiknas Number 2 of 2008, namely content, presentation, language, and graphics. Data were obtained through a documentation study of the IPAS textbook and a review of supporting literature. The results of the study indicate that this book is generally included in the "very suitable" category for use as a learning resource. From the content aspect, the material is in accordance with the IPAS learning outcomes and supports the strengthening of the Pancasila Student Profile and 21st-century skills such as critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking. The presentation aspect is structured coherently and is student-centered through project-based and inquiry-based activities. The language aspect is communicative and appropriate to the students' cognitive level although it requires an additional glossary for certain scientific terms. The graphic aspect displays a proportional, attractive, and educational visual design. Thus, the ESPS Science textbook for Grade V Independent Curriculum is worthy of being used as a primary learning resource that not only strengthens understanding of science and social concepts but also shapes students' character and skills to face the challenges of the 21st century.
