Abstract

The concept of biodiversity is essential because it safeguards both human well-being and the well-being of nature, supports ecosystem services, and protects ecological integrity and resilience. This study aims to measure the level of biodiversity concept mastery among students of SMK 3 Lubuk Linggau and to analyze factors such as gender and grade level that influence students’ understanding of biodiversity concepts. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach. The data collection instrument consisted of multiple-choice tests, and the obtained data were analyzed descriptively. The results show that the aspect of genetic diversity had a percentage score of 59.57, species diversity 73.85, and ecosystem diversity 77.73. Male students achieved a concept mastery level of 71.4%, while female students achieved 67.83%. Overall, the study concludes that the students’ mastery of biodiversity concepts falls into the “good” category.
