Aggressive Behavior Profile of Student’s in Indonesia: Analysis of Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Anger, and Hostility
Abstract
Abstract—This study aimed to describe the profile of students’ aggressive behavior in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This study was conducted in Yogyakarta, Indonesia involving 738 junior high school students, the sample was taken by using cluster random sampling. This was a quantitative descriptive study. It analyzed the four forms of students’ aggressive behavior namely physical aggression, verbal aggression, anger, and hostility. This study employed the Aggressive behavior scale as the instrument, and its reliability and validity had been tested. This study used the formula of percentage to analyze the data. This study found that the students’ aggressive behavior in the form of physical aggression was 29%, verbal aggression was 18%, anger was 24%, and hostility was 29%. This study suggested the counselors and the related parties design a counseling program to reduce physical, verbal, anger, and hostility aggressive behavior.
