Meta-Analysis of Implementation of Character Education Strengthening in Elementary School
Abstract
Abstract—The issue of the importance of character education has intensified since 2014 and become one of the items Nawacita envisioned in Mental Revolutionary National Movement or MRNM. Character Education Strengthening or CES is the embodiment of MRNM in education. At this time almost all school at every level of education has implemented it. The study is based on the findings of research on strengthening character education undertaken by researchers throughout Indonesia. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the successes and weaknesses of the implementation of the CES that has been done in primary schools in building the character of students. The method employed is a meta-analysis which is a systemic literature review. This method is employed since the primary study was the subject of a review in the study applied a qualitative approach. This study concluded the CES in terms of the legal basis, the concept, objectives and strategy of its implementation are clear, teachers and educational staff in primary schools tend to not understand very well the concept and implementation strategy of the CES at school, in general, primary schools were not ready to implement the CES, and the implementation of the CES has not achieved results as expected.
