Inquiry with Visit of Learning Object: Effectivness to Reducing Gender Gap in SMA Physics Learning
Abstract
Abstract—The attention of students in physics learning at the High School level is still low, especially the female student group. The reason is that learning activities are less attractive because the emphasis is only on improving students' cognitive abilities, not on their involvement in applying scientific concepts in everyday life. The purpose of this study was to describe the impact of inquiry learning through the visit of learning objects to reduce gender disparity in physics learning. Quantitative quasi-experimental research methods with non equivalent pre post group designs were used in this study. The results of data analysis revealed that inquiry through the visit of learning objects can reduce the gender gap in physics learning, which is indicated by the results of the t-test on N-gain of both groups of male and female high school students in the topic of temperature and heat
Keywords— inquiry, learning objects, gender gaps
