The Contribution of Accreditation Quality to Community Trust in School

Abstract


Abstract—The difference in the quality of school accreditation has an impact on the number of prospective students who enroll in schools. Operationally, the number of students enrolling is a manifestation of public trust in a school. However, it is not yet known how far the contribution of accreditation quality to community trust. This study aims to determine the effect of accreditation quality on community trust. This study uses a quantitative approach with survey methods conducted in the Jakarta Province, West Java and Banten. The population in this study was 28,768 schools, while the study sample amounted to 400 schools. The sample used by researchers included schools that were accredited A, B and C. The stages of data analysis included: descriptive statistics to describe the data of each research variable and hypothesis testing with regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that: 1) accreditation Quality has an influence on community trust. 2) The accreditation quality that has the most influence on community trust is graduate competency standards and financing standards. Based on the results of the study, the government needs to provide guidance to schools that have C accreditation to increase community trust.
