INTRODUCING AND MAINTAINING THE NOBLE CULTURE OF PEOPLE IN CIREUNDEU VILLAGE THROUGH ACTIVITIES FIELD LECTURE
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The purpose of the field lecture activities is to provide experience in the process of learning activities, especially in introducing and preserving the noble culture of the indigenous Cireundeu village community, to students in the form of an introduction to community culture in consuming rice substitutes using cassava or cassava known as "constellations". In this field lecture activity, students were given the problem of analyzing the cultural traditions of the people who were still preserving their ancestral heritage in the form of consuming "constellations" of rice substitutes which made the Cireundeu traditional village community into a modern society that maintained their character as one of the cultural values in West Java. The method used in field recovery activities is the method of observation or direct observation in the form of reports on the results of field recovery activities and using the description analysis method. The results in the field recovery activities that have been carried out by students, namely students gain knowledge and become open minded that the value of the tradition of ancestral heritage in the form of consumption of "constellation" rice substitutes in modern times should not be an ancient tradition but rather a technological inspiration that must be developed into a food technology and become an alternative solution to the consumption of staple rice or rice. Conclusions from the field lecture activities are : a. The culture of the nation, especially the indigenous culture which is inherited from noble values as a cultural characteristic of the people of an area, is becoming extinct and needs to be preserved from generation to generation. b. The need to introduce community culture to students as a noble value of local cultural wisdom and philosophical values embedded in it, especially cassava food management technology into constellations is still maintained in today's modern times. c. Giving lectures in general biology courses provides knowledge that natural resources can be utilized as a value of traditional technology to be modern by using tools from nature in the community.
