Impact of Education and Vocabulary Mastery on English Writing Skills
Abstract
English writing skills are vital for global companies, especially those in international relations. This study investigates the impact of education level and vocabulary mastery on English writing ability at PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor. Using a quantitative survey approach and ordinal regression analysis, the findings show that education level and vocabulary mastery significantly influence writing ability (χ² = 277.083, p < 0.001), explaining 70.6% of the variance (Nagelkerke R² = 0.706). Individually, education level positively affects writing skills (β = 1.205, p < 0.001), while vocabulary mastery has a stronger impact (β = 2.289, p < 0.001; odds ratio = 9.86), indicating its critical role in enhancing writing quality. These results suggest that targeted training programs at PT Suzuki Indomobil Motor could improve employees’ writing skills, supporting effective communication in line with international standards.
