Cognitive Levels and Cultural Dimension in Reading Task of the “English for Nusantara” By Ika Lestari Damayanti, et al
Abstract
This study aims to determine: (1). Cognitive Levels in Reading Tasks of the “English for Nusantara” by Ika Lestari Damayanti, et al, (2). Cultural Dimension in Reading Tasks of the “English for Nusantara” by Ika Lestari Damayanti, et al. The research approach used is qualitative descriptive. The instruments used are Cognitive Levels and Cultural Dimension criteria . The results of this study show: (1) From 16 texts in the Seventh Grade Middle School English Electronic School Book. The author found that the amount of remembering (C1) was 89.50%, understanding (C2) 4%, analyzing (C4) 6.60%. (2) The 16 texts in the English for Nusantara by Ika Lestari Damayanti, et all do not contain all categories of cultural dimensions. The author found that the source culture was 28.60%, the target culture was 28.60%, and the international culture was 42.90%.
