Eksplorasi Sains Ilmiah dari Pengetahuan Asli (Indigenous Science): Studi Etnofisika pada Tradisi Nirok Naggok di Belitung
Abstract
This research explores the potential of ethnophysics within the Nirok Naggok fishing tradition practiced by the community of Kembiri Village, Belitung. This study aims to bridge the significant gap between formal science concepts in schools and students' cultural realities, which are often overlooked. By employing a descriptive qualitative method and a scientific reconstruction approach, this research conducts an in-depth analysis of the physics principles inherent in the use of these traditional tools and techniques. The analysis focuses on geometrical optics regarding light refraction phenomena, classical mechanics related to momentum and impulse in spear usage, and hydrodynamics involving Bernoulli's principle and porosity in the fishing gear. The results demonstrate that this local wisdom is not merely a ritual, but an empirical manifestation of natural laws that is scientifically valid. These findings offer a strategic pedagogical framework for integrating ethnoscience into the Kurikulum Merdeka, shifting the physics learning paradigm to become more contextual, meaningful, and relevant for students.
