Eksplorasi Bioinformatika Senyawa Myricetin dari Psidium guajava dalam Penanggunangan Diare : Studi Fisikokimia, Farmakokinetik dan Toksikologi

Abstract

Myricetin, a flavonol compound found in Psidium guajava, has long been used in traditional medicine to treat digestive ailments such as diarrhea. This study aimed to investigate the pharmacological potential of Myricetin using a bioinformatics-based in silico approach by assessing its physicochemical properties, pharmacokinetics, and toxicity profile. Data were collected from the PubChem database, and further analysis was performed using SwissADME and ProTox 3.0. The compound exhibited good molecular characteristics, including a suitable molecular weight and moderate lipophilicity. However, its high TPSA and poor gastrointestinal absorption suggest limited oral bioavailability. Myricetin is not a substrate for glycoprotein P, which may enhance its intracellular retention. Predicted toxicity places it in toxicity class 3 (LD50 between 50–300 mg/kg), with potential hepatotoxic, neurotoxic, and CYP enzyme inhibition effects. Importantly, the drug exhibits low potential for mutagenic, carcinogenic, and immunotoxic activity. Overall, Myricetin shows promising pharmacological potential as an antidiarrheal agent, but more experimental studies are needed to confirm its safety and further clinical effectiveness.
