Locus of Control Contribution Toward Student Money Allowance Management
Abstract
Abstract— Factors affecting of pocket money management in general are seen from the side of the economy, environment, and organization. There are few researches on pocket money which view from psychological aspects such as the locus of control that is known to manage or control one's behavior towards pocket money. This study aims to examine the internal and external locus of control in pocket money management. The method in this research is quantitative, with the type of associative research. This research was conducted at Indraprasta PGRI University, Jakarta, which involved 109 students. Data collection technique using questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability testing to measure pocket money management (managing income, managing expenses, and managing reserve funds), internal locus of control, and external locus of control on an ordinal scale. Data analysis technique use multiple linear regression test. The results indicate that the locus of control contributes to the management of pocket money internally and externally. Locus of control increases the ability of students to manage pocket money.
