Analisis Nilai-Nilai Moral dan Sosial dalam Novel Orang-Orang Biasa Karya Andrea Hirata

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to characterize the moral and social ideals found in the novel Orang-Orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata. Qualitative research employing techniques of descriptive analysis is the used methodology. A moral value analysis guide that makes reference to Burhan Nurgiyantoro's theory served as the research tool. In the meantime, Ahmad Risdi's theory is mentioned in social value instruments. According to the findings of the author's examination of moral and social values in Orang-Orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata, the book does, in fact, contain a wealth of moral and social values. The author's examination revealed that 58 quotes contained moral principles. These ethical principles can be divided into three categories: (1) moral principles toward God Almighty, (2) moral principles towards oneself, and (3) moral principles towards other people and the community. The study's findings also demonstrate the intersection of social and moral values, particularly those pertaining to one's own self-worth, the worth of one's fellow people, and the social realm. There are thirty-one quotes from the book Orang-Orang Biasa that represent the findings of social value research. There are five different types of social values: (1) fondness, (2) acquaintance, (3) commitment, (4) altruism, and (5) thoughtfulness. The most important social component is empathy.
