THE EFFECT OF VOCABULARY MASTERY AND READING INTEREST ON DESCRIPTIVE TEXT WRITING SKILLS

Abstract


The purpose of this study was to determine: 1). The effect of vocabulary mastery and Reading Interest together on descriptive text writing skills in students of SMPN 28 Jakarta and SMPN 156 Jakarta, 2). The effect of vocabulary mastery on descriptive text writing skills in SMPN 28 Jakarta and SMPN 156 Jakarta 3). The effect of Reading Interest on descriptive text writing skills in students of SMPN 28 Jakarta and SMPN 156 Jakarta. The research method used was a survey with a regression study approach. Based on the results of the hypothesis and data analysis, it shows that 1).
There is a significant effect of vocabulary mastery and reading interest together on English descriptive text writing skills in SMPN 28 Jakarta and SMPN 156 Jakarta. This is evidenced by the Sig. 0.000b <0.05 and F count of 55.008 2). There is a significant effect of vocabulary mastery on English descriptive text writing skills in SMPN 28 Jakarta and SMPN 156 Jakarta. This can be evidenced by the Sig. 0.000 <0.05 and tcount of 10.025 3). There is a significant influence of reading interest on English descriptive text writing skills at SMPN 28 Jakarta and SMPN 156 Jakarta. This can be proven by the Sig. value of 0.009 <0.05 and tcount of 3.810
