THE INFLUENCE OF VOCABULARY AND GRAMMAR MASTERY ON THE ABILITY TO WRITE ENGLISH NARRATIVE TEXT (Survey of Private Junior High School in Cileungsi – Bogor)

Abstract


This research aims to find out: 1). The effect of mastery of vocabulary and grammar together on the ability to write English narrative texts for students of SMP. 2). The effect of vocabulary mastery on the ability to write English narrative texts among students of SMPIT Prayasqi and SMP. 3). The effect of mastery of grammar on the ability to write English narrative texts for students of SMP. The research held at SMP Prayasqi and Tunas Islam Global Cileungsi-Bogor. The research method used is survey with regression study approach. Based on the hypothesis results and data analysis, it shows that: 1). There is a significant influence between vocabulary mastery and grammar mastery on the ability to write narrative text as evidenced by the results of
hypothesis testing with a significance value 0.000 <0.05 and an F count value of 73.000. 2). There is a significant influence between the vocabulary mastery and the narrative text writing ability as evidenced based on the hypothesis test results with a Sig value. 0.023 < 0.05 and the value of t count = 2.336 . 3). There is a significant influence between grammar mastery on the narrative text writing as evidenced based on the hypothesis test results with a Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and the value of tcount = 5.616
