The Influence of Perception of Learning Media and Learning Motivation on the Ability to Understand Descriptive Texts of Private Junior High School Students in East Jakarta
Abstract
This research aims to demonstrate: 1) Whether there is a simultaneous effect of perception of learning media and learning motivation on the ability to understand
descriptive text reading among private junior high school students in East Jakarta. 2)
Whether there is an effect of perception of learning media on the ability to understand
descriptive text reading among private junior high school students in East Jakarta. 3)
Whether there is an effect of learning motivation on the ability to understand descriptive text reading among private junior high school students in East Jakarta. The
sample in this study consisted of 60 students using a multiple linear regression analysis model. The results of the study indicate that: 1) There is a significant effect of
perception of learning media and learning motivation simultaneously on the ability to
understand descriptive text reading among private junior high school students in East
Jakarta. This is evidenced by a Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05 and an F count value of
92.335. 2) There is a significant effect of perception of learning media on the ability
to understand descriptive text reading among private junior high school students in
East Jakarta. This is evidenced by a Sig. value of 0.002 < 0.005 and a t count value of
3.172. 3) There is a significant effect of learning motivation on the ability to understand descriptive text reading among private junior high school students in East
Jakarta. This is evidenced by a Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.005 and a t count value of 3.941.
