The Impact of Learning Media Perceptions and Interest on English Reading Comprehension Skills
Abstract
The combined effects of learning interest and perceptions of learning media on English reading comprehension skills are investigated in this study among students enrolled in public junior high schools in Depok City. A sample of 91 students was chosen using
simple random sampling in the survey procedure. With an unstandardized coefficient of 0.473 and a significance value of 0.000, regression analysis demonstrated that students' perceptions of learning media have a substantial impact on their reading comprehension
abilities. Similarly, learning interest was found to have a significant positive effect, with an unstandardized coefficient of 0.234 and a significance value of 0.005. The findings suggest that both learning media perceptions and learning interest play crucial roles in enhancing
students' English reading comprehension. The study underscores the importance of fostering positive perceptions of learning media and cultivating student interest to improve reading outcomes. Future research should explore additional factors influencing reading
comprehension.
