PENGARUH KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN DAN MINAT TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS CERITA PENDEK DI SMA NEGERI JAKARTA TIMUR

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the effect of reading comprehension and learning interest together on the ability to write short stories of short students of SMA Negeri Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta; (2) the effect of reading comprehension ability on the ability to write short stories in SMA Negeri Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta; and (3) the effect of interest in learning on the ability to write short stories of high school students in East Jakarta District of Duren Sawit. The method used in this study is a survey, namely research activities carried out by collecting facts through direct observation. The population is 832 students with an error tolerance limit of 5% ,. While the sample used in the study amounted to 270 students. To meet the sample size, 135 students were taken from each school in the two schools studied. The instrument used in this study was a test with a list of questions as a tool to find out the respondent's data. The form of test items are arranged in questions to be answered by respondents with answer choices according to the conditions of each student. The instrument includes the measurement of listening ability (X1) and measurement of vocabulary mastery (X2) with a diction mastery test as an independent variable. While the dependent variable is the skills to write a speech script (Y) as measured by the test of writing a speech script skills. The results showed that; (1) there is a significant influence of the ability to read comprehension and interest in learning together on the ability to write short stories of high school students in the Duren Sawit District High School, this is evidenced by the value of Sig = 0,000 <0.05 and Fcount = 601,186; (2) there is a significant influence on the ability to read comprehension on the ability to write short stories, this is evidenced by the value of Sig = 0.006 <0.05 and tcount = 2.785; and (3) there is a significant influence of interest in learning on the ability to write short stories, this is evidenced by the value of Sig = 0,000 <0.05 and tcount = 4.543.
