The Influence of Vocabulary and Grammar Mastery on English Speaking Skills (A Survey at Private Islamic Senior High Schools in Tasikmalaya)

Abstract


This study aims to examine the influence of vocabulary and grammar mastery on the English-speaking skills of 12th-grade students at private Islamic Senior High School in Tasikmalaya. The research employs a quantitative method, specifically a survey, to investigate the relationship between vocabulary and grammar mastery and English-speaking skills. The participants in this study consist of 85 students. Data were collected through a vocabulary test, a grammar test, and a speaking test. The results indicate
that the hypothesis regarding the influence of vocabulary and grammar mastery on English-speaking skills is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that vocabulary and grammar mastery significantly affect students' English-speaking skills.
