THE INFLUENCE OF PARENTAL SUPPORT AND STUDENT LEARNING MOTIVATION ON ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT
Abstract
This research study aims to examine the influence of parental
support and student learning motivation on English learning achievement. A
survey method was employed in this study. The population for this research
consisted of 502 students across 2 schools in North Jakarta, with 50 students
selected as the sample through simple random sampling. The instruments used
for data collection were a questionnaire and documentation. Data were
analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results of this study show that:
(1) Parental support and student learning motivation significantly influence
English learning achievement simultaneously (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05, F-observed
value = 27.104); (2) Parental support has a significant influence on English
learning achievement (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05, t-observed value = 4.596); (3)
Student learning motivation significantly influences English learning
achievement (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05, t-observed value = 4.405).
