PENGARUH MINAT DAN KEMANDIRIAN BELAJAR TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR BAHASA INGGRIS

Abstract


Abstract: This research is a survey research and aims to find and analyze empirically the influence of learning interest and independence on the English learning achievement of state junior high school students in Sukabumi. Affordable population is VIII grade students so 60 respondents were sampled in this research. The research sample was obtained through a simple random sampling method in which the researcher mixed subjects in the population so that all subjects were considered equal. The study design was used through correlation techniques with three variables consisting of 2 independent variables namely interest and independence of learning and 1 dependent variable, namely English learning achievement. Data collection is done by questionnaire and test techniques. The collected data is analyzed using correlation techniques and multiple linear regression. Before the data is analyzed, the data requirements test (normality and linearity test) and descriptive statistical analysis are first performed. The results showed that: 1) There is a significant influence of interest and independence of learning together on the English learning achievement in State Junior High School students of Sukabumi District, as evidenced by the value of Sig = 0,000 <0.05 and the results of Fcount = 81,919; 2) There is a significant influence of learning interest on student's English learning achievement, with a Sig = 0,000 <0.05 and the t-test = 7,1343.) There is a significant influence of learning independence on the English learning achievement in state junior high school students of Sukabumi District with a Sig = 0.001 and t count = 3.649.This can be interpreted that English learning achievement is influenced by interest and independence of learning.
