THE EFFECTS OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND PARENTS ATTENTION ON ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT

Abstract


This study aims to determine: 1) The influence of emotional intelligence and parental attention together on the English learning achievement of State Junior High School students. 2) The influence of emotional intelligence on the English learning achievement of State Junior High School students. 3) the influence of parents' attention on the achievement of English learning of State Junior High School students. The research method uses the cumulative survey method. Samples were taken using simple random sampling, with a total sample of 96 students. Furthermore, the data obtained were analyzed descriptively and the analysis requirements test was performed, which included the normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test and heteroscedasticity test, so the next analysis used path analysis. From the data processing the results of the study show: 1) There is a significant direct effect on emotional intelligence and parents' attention on the achievement of English Language Learning at State Junior High School. This is evidenced by the value of Sig. 0.010 <0.05 and Fh = 4.890. 2) There is a significant influence of emotional intelligence on the achievement of English learning of state junior high school students in Depok. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig. 0.038 <0.05 and th = 2.107. 3) There is a significant influence of parents' attention on the English learning achievement of State Junior High School students in Depok. This is evidenced by the acquisition of Sig. 0.040 <0.05 and th = 2.084.
